Performer idle speed problem

Hi, perhaps someone has a suggestion about this; my old Performer developed a problem literally overnight and it will not stay on at idle speed, just dies. It seem to be working fine under load. I had to turn the idle speed screw a few turns to keep it going until it cools down but the speed is way to high.

Any suggestions about what's causing this? Thanks a lot.
